	Mary's Place
	Mary’s Place serves homeless and formerly homeless women and their children in a weekday program open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am - 4:00 pm. It is a welcoming and safe environment where women and children can build community, enrich their days and find resources to rebuild their lives.

		Resources are offered for vocational, housing and financial needs.
		Groups, classes and on-site services address issues of physical, spiritual and emotional health.
		Nurses and a naturopathic medical clinic are available.
		Other activities aim at fun and community building; arts and crafts, book groups, games and singing are a few examples.
		Some basic needs are met: breakfast, lunch, showers and laundry facilities are available.


	Women in the program assist with these daily operations and help with cleaning and setup.

	Well, I think the 1st time I came to Mary’s Place, I had just been raped. I came in terrified and distraught. Women were having loud conversations over the table, making coffee and cooking eggs. It felt like home. I immediately relaxed. I had come from the hospital with 19 stitches from my hip to my inner thigh; the feeling of all the women was whole and cleansing. That’s why I came back. 	If you have no family, it’s the one you want to join. They welcome you with open arms at Mary’s Place….Sylvia It helped me with my diabetes. I’m not going blind anymore.
