Gethsemane Lutheran Church is committed to serving the community around us. At a critical location in downtown Seattle, Gethsemane is in a position to do good work. GLC reaches out to the community in many ways including weekly GCS service times on Tuesday, and a place for those without an address to have their mail sent for pickup, a phone available for local calls and flyers with information on meals served in the city, food banks, shelters and other information.
Mail pickup:
Mail pickup- Those without an address may use Gethsemane Lutheran Church as their mailing address and pickup the mail received there between the hours of 12:00 noon and 3:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Mail will be held for 3 months and then returned to sender. Registration is not required but it is encouraged as this could help prevent mail from being returned as staff members will attempt to contact the recipient before returning mail. To register please stop by Gethsemane Lutheran Church at Denny Park Lutheran Church between the hours of 12:00 noon and 3:30 p.m. on a Tuesday or Thursday.
GCS Schedule: By Appointment Only. Appointments may be made in person or over the phone between the hours of 10:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Appointments will be set for the next available Tuesday or Thursday, up to 1 month in advance.
Financial Assistance for Washington State I. D. and Driver's Licenses.
One-on-one counseling for the homeless, advocacy and referrals to other resources. (Note that we are currently not making appointments for new clients as we are in transition.)
