Today (Thursday, June 28), 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM, at Gethsemane Lutheran Church
Jose Robles and his family have been let down by the Lakewood Police Department who have refused to sign a certification stating that he was a victim of a crime. Lakewood PD has given no explanation as to why it was denied although he qualifies for a U-Visa. #LakewoodPoliceSeperatesFamilies
After Lakewood Police failed to act, Jose Robles, crime survivor and father of 3, fights his deportation, and avoids family separation, by taking sanctuary at Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Seattle.
Support Jose and his family by joining us for a vigil and press conference on Thursday night.
Please allow time for downtown traffic and note that the church does not have a parking lot. Ample pay-to-park spaces are available evenings in the Aspira Retail garage (access via the alley that runs between Stewart and Howell); cost is $10 for the evening. We encourage you to come by public transit if possible.
